John J asked:

I never had a late payment or any other kind of derogatory remarks. I want it removed for personal reasons. Will a credit card company hesitate to remove it from my credit report at my request?

Information on credit report after winning a lawsuit?

mjmackinnon asked:

A junk debt company bought an ancient debt of mine and tried to sue me to pay them. I fought and won and they dismissed the case, but now I don’t know what happens to the information on my credit report? This debt was listed twice, once from the original credit card company and again from the junk debt company. Does it truly disappear and do they need to remove the info from my credit report now?

If I pay something off with a collector, how can I get the collection and the original charge off from the credit card company off of my credit report? If I can’t get them off, what is the sense in paying off the collection?

What does it mean when a credit card company can’t retrieve my credit report?

credit report
Casey asked:

I applied for a credit card a while back, and I was declined. This was rather surprising to me, because I’ve got good credit. Anyway, I got an email from the cc company today stating the reason for my rejection:
” The amount of your purchase required a credit bureau report. We were unable to retrieve a report from a consumer reporting agency.”

Now, what? I retrieved my credit score just the other day and it was in the low 700s–so I know that I’ve *got* a credit score. I applied and got approved for a different credit card just a few weeks before I applied for this one, however–could that have been what went wrong? In any case, should I be worried that they couldn’t retrieve my credit report? That just seems awfully strange, and I’m not sure if I need to talk to someone at a credit bureau, or something. . .any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

credit report
. asked:

I did my research and I realized that i have a good credit report standing.

I only have 2 accounts that I am currently using.
Out of those two, for one I do have a balance but I always pay my bills on time except for two times when i was late because, the credit card company gave me the wrong due dates
They did remove the late fees however.
But 7 open in total.
5 unused
Two of them are sallie mae for school
and the other
1 for victorias secret- never used it. If I do use it I pay it once the bill comes
and the other two i dont plan on using.

Does that mean I have a bad credit score?

How do I fix credit report when the credit card company is no longer in business?

credit report
INFLGal asked:

I am in the process of trying to buy a home and recently reviewed my credit report. I noticed that one account was still reported as opened with a balance.

About 4 years ago, I had a credit card account with Conseco Greentree Financial services. The balance was sold off to another company when Conseco went bankrupt. I’ve since paid off the balance. I called the company that serviced the loan and they said there’s nothing they can do since they don’t appear anywhere on my credit report.

How cn I get this fixed? I can get Conseco to fix this since they are no longer in existence! HELP!!
