My wife is the main user of a credit card and I asked her to remove me as an authorized user since she has charged the balance up to >50% of her limit. I do not want the minimum payment and balance to show up on my credit report. She called American Express and they “cancelled” my credit card and kept hers open. Is this the same as removing me as authorized user? I don’t want to be reponsible for her debt and I don’t want it on my credit report anymore. Any ideas?

i got a call from a telemarketer trying to sell me on a trip to Fl. she asked if i wanted to use my credit card, i told her that i didnt have one, so she insisted that i had, and that it was up on her screen that i had a master card, so i got worried about identity theft and went online to check it out. but because i don’t (as far as i know) have a credit card, i couldn’t use the free credit reports on line, is there a nother way to find out about an identity theft with out having to use a credit card?
