The settlement was to allow people to get a free credit report so they can check for suspicious activity. i think this is in addition to the one free report you can get per year from each of the three agencies through annualcreditreport.com. I read about the class action thing in Money Magazine, they may have some info on their website about it. You can go to annualcreditreport.com and get a free credit report once a year. I have used this site myself. You have to go through A LOT of information to verify your identity, and you only get the report of what is on your credit. You would have to pay to get your actual credit score. Not that I am aware of.
