How to remove court judgement from credit report?
insurancelawcase asked:
A judgment was awarded against me and a small claims court put a entry in my credit report.
A judgment was awarded against me and a small claims court put a entry in my credit report.
If I pay the creditor, will the court remove the entry? Creditor agreed to sign a letter stating that there are no open disputes between me and them (as long as I pay them) which I then can send to the credit buerua and aske them to remove it.
Is it possible? Has anyone done it?

Judgments- paid or not stay on credit for 10 years. If you pay it then you need to have it released by having a release filed in the county. Send the recorded release (copy) to each of the 3 credit bureaus & they will mark it paid/satisfied. But as for getting it removed, not gonna happen. Also a letter from the creditor is not enough to get it cleared- it must be a release of judgment form - signed, notarized and recorded to be valid.

Nope the judgement will show as paid, but will still remain on your credit report for 10 years.

You cannot remove court judgments. Should have settled the debt before it came to that.

Judgments either paid or not remain for either 7-years or until the statute of limitations runs out whichever is longer.
