Ah… been there done that… you must first request a copy of your current report, then submit your denial for any of the incorrect Information… don’t be surprised to be 8-10 months getting them removed… that’s what it took me…
You fire off the first letter of denial, they must respond within 30 days, then they do just under the wire but they say it’s yours and maybe even offer you a partial settlement…you must fire another letter off in denial… this process takes awhile as each time you fire off a letter to them, they take 30 days to respond… I would make a demand for a credit agreement with your signature on it, and or a sales receipt or something with your signature on it, if they do provide something, and they likely won’t or can’t you have to go through the handwriting analysis crap…
Don’t give up… keep at it and they will eventually remove it…you must do this with all 3 major reporting companies, TRW Trans Union, EQUIFAX, EXPERIAN… tell them you were denied credit recently, due to a report furnished by them, they must give you a copy for free… Good Luck

Send a dispute to the credit bureaus indicating the item is not yours. Chances are it’s a keying error and that will get it removed with 45 days.

However, it that doesn’t work, send the creditor listed a certified, return receipt letter requesting validation of the debt to include copies of contracts and other documentation that prove the debt is yours. Indicate you suspect possible ID theft or fraud. Give them 30 days.

If they fail to respond, dispute the item with the credit bureaus again. Include a copy of your validation request and indicate that the creditor failed to validate. That should get it removed.

If the creditor does validate, you should have all you need to fight it out with the creditor.
