The official site is
You can request a free report from each of the three major agencies once a year. You’ll have to give enough information to identify yourself.
Unless you’re getting ready to make a major purchase, you best bet is to spread the three out over the year so you can see any changes.
You are also entitled to a free credit report if you are denied credit by a lender because of a credit issue. That’s in addition to your three freebies.
There is no mandated free credit score though sometimes you can get that by a trial enrollment in one of the “credit packages” and then quitting before your free trial is over.

Be careful with all of those free credit report websites though because they only offer about 2 months free then they start charging the credit card that you give them every month .. they did it to me and im currently in the process of fighting to get those charges off of my account i had no clue were occuring!

The annual report site is free, but it does not give you your credit score, just the reports. It also takes 2-3 weeks to get everything through the mail.
The following is a link to a site that offers all 3 scores and all 3 reports for free when you sign up for their monitoring service which comes with a free 7 day trial. You can sign-up download your report in just a few minutes and then cancel.
