How long does this take to come off my credit report?
azkoolchik asked:
I had an account in collections that I did not even know that was there until I pulled my credit report and I payed the full balance. Now it says it’s PAID/CLOSED but it still on my credit report. When does this come off my credit report? Or should I say how long does this take to come off my credit report?

As soon as your account showed paid/closed (assuming you paid it within 6 months of reporting) your score jumped up 20-30 points. It will stay on your report with out any further damage for 7 years.

7-years for the date you paid it off.
Be careful of people that claim you can remove things from your credit report. According to the Consumer Action Handbook 2007 edition nothing that is true can be removed.
