is genuinely free, but offers only one free report per credit bureau (three total) per year and does not include the credit score in the free report.

The site with the word “free” in its address is not really free unless you agree to pay for something else.

This is the only one that is FREE, it is the one the FTC recommends. You can only use it once a year.

freecreditreport.com is a service and you have to pay for it, that is why they want a cc #

This is the government mandated site where you g 1 free credit report per year from each credit reporting bureau WITHOUT even asking for your credit card info

Ignore the freecreditreport — they are free only if you subscribe to their monitoring service and they do ask for your card

Go to FTC.gov.

There you can get one free credit report per year from each of the three large agencies.
Keep in mind you do not get your credit score. You do have to sign up for pay service to get that.
