No, I do not think so. What affects your score is not the fact that the credit card company checks out your score but rather that you have opened a number of credit cards in succession.

The fact that someone who has a legitimate right to check your score such as your credit card company or a mortgage company looks at your score has no impact. It is the opening of additional credit lines or cards that negatively impacts your score.

Check out this website for additional info about how credit scores are impacted:

It will not hurt you to pull your credit report through a credit agency. It only hurts your credit when inquiries are made about your credit, such as applying for a credit card or loan. Pulling your credit report and score is not considered an inquiry and will not affect your credit.

as you stated, every time a company looks at your credit, it lowers your score.

I got news for you. Those reports are NOT free. Read the fine print, and it will tell you you have to subscibe to something to get this "free" report.

no, i use freecreditreport.com. There is a fee of 29 dollars to pull the report.

Yes, credit card inquires, car loan inquires will lower your score, but when you run through free credit. It also provides you alerts if someone runs something against your credit
