it is the only free one, as stated above. You may do this once a year and you may choose to pull a report from experian today, and then transunion in 4 months, and then then equifax in 9 months, or you may get them all today.

If you want your FICO score, you will have to pay 8 bucks for that, as someone will have to calculate it for you, but other than that, its totally free. No trial period or anything like that. Nothing. It is the one source for providing you with your legally by law must be obtainable credit report.

After viewing or printing if you wish, your report will be available online to you for thirty days after you view it.

They all have links for disputing anything on your report, and you may start your dispute online. In some cases, you might have to provide proof, and you can either fax or mail it in, or request from the company issuing a falsity send in a letter stating that the falsity never happened or shouldnt be there. If the institution will only send you a letter, then you may send a copy of the letter, a copy of your printed report with the item in question highlighted, along with a written letter from you.

Funny how people are conned into those sites that are not really free.
I guess they don't read the fine print.

annualcreditreport.com = the only place

A fool and his money are soon separated.

in reply to the first answer - annualcreditreport.com is the ONLY website that you can get them free.. the government has a rule that you can only get your credit report free once a year from each reporting agency (transunion, equifax and the other one)... this is the ONLY website that the government allows you to get it for free for.. any other website will charge you...

TOTALLY FREE -- will not even ask for your credit card. This is the government mandated site where you get 1 free credit report per year from each of the 3 credit bureaus. No packages to pay or credit monitoring services to pay
