Where can you find out your credit score for free?
drdocaj asked:
Do banks run your credit for free? Does it effect your credit everytime you have it ran? I just want to know what my credit score is without signing up for anything over the internet.
Thanks, I already knew about the free credit report, but it doesn’t give your score, I just want to know what my score is.

Most banks won’t run a credit report for you but you can ask. I’d try FreeCreditReport.com it will give you your score but you have to give them some info about so they can find your report. It won’t hurt to to have a credit report ran but if you have a lot of reports ran in a short amount on time you may be turned down for loans because they don’t know if you had someone run a report for your own info or if they did it because you are trying to get a credit card.

the free annual report will let you pay a few bucks to get the score. That will not affect your score. If you go to a car dealer or bank, they can tell you, but may not want to just run it for you for nothing. Plus that does hit you for a couple points. Stores (Target, Sears etc.)usually dont get the score, just an approval or decline.
In short, no, you cant get it for free.
