NO. DO NOT go to “freecreditreport.com”. That service requires a fee and a credit card to sign up.
The -official- site for pulling one free credit report per year from each credit bureau is:
You are, by law, entitled to pull one free credit report per year from each of the 3 main credit bureaus. The link above is the ONLY website where you can access this benefit.
Use the annualcreditreport.com link, but only order from one company every four months, (i.e. May - experian, Sept. - transunion, Jan. - equifax) not all three at once. This way, you can keep close tabs on your reports for free. Then next May, you can start all over again, for free.

You can get a free report,once per year or if you were denied credit at, but you will have to pay if you want a score to go along with the reports.
