I would just choose one agency to get your report. Then get the second one 4 months later and the final agency 4 months after that so that you can view your report 3 times a year.

Truth - if you live in the US, you are now entitled to one free credit report each year from each of the three major reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, and Transunion). To access your TOTALLY FREE NO STRINGS ATTACHED credit report, go to (see link below). You will NOT need to input any credit card or bank account numbers.

As obe231 has already said, get one agency’s report every four months and you will NOT have to sign up for a credit watch service.

freecreditreport.com is NOT truly free. If you do not cancel your subscription, they will continue to charge you for their credit watch service.

You also may want to check out your profile with check verification services…the national credit bureaus such as Experian, Equifax, & Trans Union do not focus on check writing (or worse “bouncing”).

Having a bad record within the variou debit bureaus can be just as bad, if not worse, as you need a checking account in order to pay your monthly credit card or other loan bills.

See sources below for 5 not widely known organizations (and there toll free contact information) that are just as powerful as the credit bureaus.

You can contact them to investigate your “free” debit report.
