As everyone else has stated here, annualcreditreports is the only one recognized and approved by the FTC. Here is some info regarding this and what to look out for when you request a report:

Getting ones report every year is a good thing, it protects you from identity theft and it let’s you know where you stand.

You don’t need to sign up for anything or give any billing information. This doesnt give you your score–just each of the reports 1 time per year

Don’t be paranoid, the ACR’s site is secured. Even though they ask for your social security number, your ssn is encrypted and you can opt to show only the last 4-digits of your ssn when viewing or printing your reports.

The only site you should go to is. It is very secure and you will not have any problems with it.

I’ve done it many times, and helped lots of others do it. Just remember that before you go to the site, info on your mortgage and car loans, as they will ask you some information that will require you to verify.

BUT make sure you have the right E-MAIL address–other wise all these companies pop up offering you free reports but with conditions.

I’ve done it on yourfreecreditreport.com also, but I’ve paid a small fee of 7.95 to get my credit score also. The report is from the 3 credit bureaus, and a year later if you still have the same email address, they let you know that you’re eligible for another free report. Of course, they want to sell you the credit score and monitoring your credit on a monthly basis for a 19.99 fee. It is entirely up to you if you want to do this, but the basic reports are free.

yes i have..every year..and it is all secure…..they even ask you security questions about some of your accounts to make sure you are seeing your report and not someone elses..like last 4 of account numbers and who a loan may be through

I’ve done it every year since it was allowed and never had a problem. Just make sure you go to the correct site, which is. If you are uncomfortable doing it online, you can also request that your credit reports be mailed to you instead using this site. Good luck!

i went to and it was fine. it’s only free for a month and then u’ll have to call them and cancel it. it’s safe.
