Does your credit report show your employment and salary on it?
Phil H asked:
When you give your ssn to somebody, like an apartment complex or something, for them to do a credit report, are they able to tell from it how much you make where you work etc., if you are or are not employed etc. Thank you.

It does not show your salary, but at least one of mine shows something like “last reported employer.” The funny thing is that it’s from a job I had over 20 years ago when I was in college!

Nope, they are checking prior residences and your credit score, they can however pay a service or call your previous or current employer on your application to verify those details.

It doesn’t if you’re a lib. Libs have no employment or salary.

Not always. Credit agencies have to report your credit status periodically. Sometimes a former employer shows up on mine. Not current employment unless you’ve been there for a while. Pay does not show up.

Only employment history. No salary information. It does show all off your debt; loans, credit cards, etc. with your payment schedule.

You should try looking at your credit report yourself for free. All mine had was my address and outstanding debts that had not been collected.

It will show some employer information, but not salary. Mine shows as current employer the company I worked for four jobs, 15 years ago.

Sometimes your credit report shows the name of the company you work for but it isn’t always updated. It doesn’t show salary or job title, etc.

Credit reports will show your employer information and sometimes your position but not your salary.
It is not always up to date, and in a way they do know what your salary is because this information must be submitted anytime you are submitted to a lender for a loan, but it is not disclosed on your report.
Mine shows my employer and my position but I have been the same place for over 4-years.

It doesn’t show salary, but may show several previous employers.
